If you enjoy fine tapas in a hectic environment, then turn up early to be seated at the Cerveseria Catalana. Situated between Rambla de Catalunya and Balmes, it’s wise to come out for the evening sitting before 8. Otherwise, you’ll be sure to end up pressing your eager face up against the window as you stand in line for hours on end.

For a bar with such an off-putting name, (cerveseria means ‘beer bar’ in English), this little treasure does well to serve up a concoction of Mediterranean tapas. See waiters serving  plates upon plates of gambas and other pleasures such as montaditos (crab) and Galician style octopus.
