Favourites

This year organisers have succeeded in putting together a feisty mix of performances, exhibitions and concerts, all carrying the Grec message of artistic experimentation and free expression. Here you can find all the links to the organisers extensive list of events along with our very own recommendations for this year’s festival.

Music

Crinne Bailey Rae, Teatre Grec, July 21st

Grec offers no better a place than to shine as a truly artistic musician than its very own theatre. That’s why this year they have invited the internationally recognised, Corinne Bailey Rae to perform her new album, the sea, in an unquestionable highlight of this year’s music category.  Gig starts at 10pm and will set you back from €22 to €42 depending on your seat.

Exhibition

Cerimònia del te, Museo Picaso, July 1st & 2nd

Tea, wonderful tea. What better way to appreciate its many virtues than an exhibition delving deep into the significance of the important drink in ancient Japanese culture. The is called Chado and is a ceremony whose basic principles are: wellbeing through simplicity; harmony; respect; purity; and inner peace. Those interested in finding out more, snap up the limited spaces through Grec’s website. Entrance is €3 or €5 if you fancy a tasting session as well.

Performance

Lluvia, Tearte Grec, July 31st – August 1st

Flamenco artist Eva Yerbabuena turns her hand and body at interpretive dance through a performance largely inspired by poet Horacio García. The accompanying music, written by composer and guitarist Paco Jarana, features a range of styles from a rich history of Spanish based music. Together, the dance and the music create a show full of emotion in a journey into our essence, an essence that can only be discovered through pain, heartbreak and melancholy.  €15 – €36 depending on seats.
