The name of this fifteen year old music bar was taken from a poem by Artaud, meaning, ‘anarchist crowned’. With a name as strong as a political statement, Heliogabal aims have continually set it aside from others. Among the revolutionary red walls, there are the usual aspects of a music bar: long queues for the toilets, sweaty patrons and beer stained floors. If it doesn’t sounds like your usual cups of tea, don’t write it off before you’ve checked tonight’s line up (check the website for details). Jazz, rock, blues and anything with a reputable rhythm are the bars typical fancies.
You’ve probably not heard of the indie band from American or the strange looking Spanish guitarist, who looks like Moby, but one thing is for sure, Helogogabal keep their eyes and ears to the floor for new music, so with a roster full every night of the week, you won’t even be disappointed once.
