Los Caracoles or ‘Casa Bofarull’ has been serving Catalan specialities since its establishment way back in 1835. As you are led through the kitchen from the bar, the history of this great eatery is evident. Chefs swarm around one large cooker fuelled by an open fire underneath, while waiters battle their way through the heat and confusion to grab their plates of grilled meats straight off the burner.

Guests are seated in the one of the restaurant’s eight tiled salas where photos of famous patrons from Los Caracoles’ long and rich history adorn the walls. Service is quick, professional and no-nonsense, keeping up with the extraordinarily high demand of a place with quite a reputation.
