Despite not having any relation to the Mario brothers, this strangely named restaurant is actually thriving with goodness. It was Mario’s Papa who invented the first menu back in 1968 and ever since then, this time-honoured restaurant has thrived on its good quality nature which can almost be tasted through their food.  The dishes are simply and reasonably priced, and include a good selection of both meat and fish dishes alongside pasta and pizza.

The setting is more informal than your usual Italian, but the brown brick walls and Italian souvenirs add to the authenticity, whilst you’re likely to leave with a new friend: Mario himself.
