The museum of textiles, Barcelona is one of a kind. It poses as a chronological journey through time, concerning those little pieces, which fabricate together to make up what we know today as fashion. The museum brings together a wide spectrum of fabrics, embroideries, tapestries, lace, liturgical vestments, civilian clothes and accessories from the first centuries of history to date. Not only does the archive document the history of fashion, but it acts as a platform of communication, linking together the cultural and societal role of the body and its relationship to fashion. The museum also shares its outdoor space with a Textile Café, where young intellectuals often gather for lunch or drinks on the terrace.
