Sidecar is the remains of a singles bar for the US Army’s 6th fleet. The club has come along way since the days when sailors would cram the dancefloor while officers occupied what is now the backstage area. Nowadays you won’t find merry girls with their knickers in a twist, but only the cream of Barcelona’s alternative music scene.
While Djs rack up the finest slices of supreme rock and indie at the weekend, Thursday’s big night is an exceptional reason to call in sick the next morning. Drinks can be pricey but the door tax includes a complementary drink so be sure to get a couple of beers in before hand and try not slip down the stairs when entering, it’s not cool and it’s not clever.
