Tapioles 53 is run by a widely travelled Australian with a strong knowledge in worldly cuisine. There is strictly no menu but a set list which changes weekly, with homemade dishes chosen according to the owner’s whims and the availability of produce. Don’t let this put you off however, the food is as cosy as its setting.

Gnocchi with goat’s cheese and sage butter and boeuf bourguignon were just some of the delights on offer. The deserts were just as inviting: rose-water rice pudding with pomegranate, or ginger and mascarpone cheesecake.
